Assisi School was started by Rev. Fr. George Vithayathil, with the blessings of Cardinal Joseph Parecattil, the then Archbishop of Ernakulam Archdiocese, and was run by him with the co-operation of the respected Sisters of Nazareth, Edakunnu. As per the request of the people in and around Athani, a nursery school was started in June 1977 in a building of Thoshiba Anand Employees Union. Our school grew as a lower primary, upper primary and high school by the request and support of the people.
St. Francis of Assisi is the patron of our school. He is a saint who can be followed in all respects. He lived and died at Assisi Village in Italy. "To love God, love your brothers" was his message to us. Love and serve everyone irrespective of colour, caste or creed. It should be the motto of all the students of St. Francis Assisi School.
The physical, mental, spiritual and emotional development of the students are the aims of Assisi School. since we don"t have a fixed means to generate income, we depend purely on the co-operation and the help of the people around. Scholarship is awarded to best students and also for those who are in need. The pupil's progress in education, discipline, health, physical education, obedience to parents and teachers, regularity in studies si our vision. the active co-operation of the parents is an essential prerequisite for the welfare of the students.
